Hi, I'm Phoebe!
a birth doula, educator, and full-time mom based in Granville, and I am here for every wild, tender, transformative moment of the journey into parenthood.
Honestly, I think the doula life chose me long before I knew what to call it. While other kids were playing house, my favorite toy was the pregnant Barbie. I have always been fascinated by the fact that we can grow and birth an entire human — because really, what is more powerful than that?
Before stepping fully into birth work, I spent seven years as a full-time nanny, navigating the beautiful chaos of three boys during a global pandemic. That season taught me everything about patience, teamwork, and the kind of steady presence that families need most when things feel uncertain. But over time, I kept noticing the same thing: no one was holding the mother. We go through pregnancy and delivery with the thought that “healthy baby healthy mom” is the most important thing, but that is the floor. We can do better. After the birth of my own son three years ago, I stopped waiting and pursued my certification. I haven't looked back since.
At the heart of my work is a deep commitment to informed consent and a nonjudgmental presence. Whether you are planning an unmedicated labor, leaning into every medical tool available, or somewhere in between — your voice matters, your choices matter, and I am here to make sure you feel that at every step. I support families across all birth settings, bringing both evidence-based knowledge and genuine compassion to every room I walk into.
When I'm not at a birth, you can find me on long walks with my husband, our two wild kiddos, and our three dogs — yes, three. Life is full and loud and I wouldn't trade a single bit of it.
I would love to connect and learn how I can best support you!
Phoebe Byers, Birth Doula
